Our approach

Most law firm video is a 12-minute talking-head clip nobody watches. The interesting question isn't whether to do video. It's what kinds of video and audio actually move the needle for a relationship-driven firm.

  • The format follows the job

A case study confirms a referral. Thought leadership earns the referrer's attention. A testimonial does the work a written quote can't. A podcast guest spot puts the partner in the right ear at the right moment. Each format has a job, and we shoot, edit, and produce against the job, not against a generic "video content" brief.

  • The partner is the product, on camera too

For a relationship-driven firm, clients hire a lawyer, not a logo. That means the partner has to look credible on camera, sound natural in audio, and come across as someone you'd want to work with. We coach, script, and edit with that in mind. Not polish-for-polish's-sake, but credibility, in the lawyer's own voice.

  • We won't shoot a 60-minute podcast nobody listens to

Owned podcasts are a real profile-building tool for the right partner with the right show. For most, they're a vanity project that dies after six episodes. Before we shoot anything, we'll tell you honestly whether what you're picturing will work, and what would work better.

What we do

The production work, the strategic thinking, and the coordination to make it happen.

  • Strategy and format

    • Working out what to actually make: case study, thought leadership, testimonial, explainer, podcast guest appearance, owned podcast, or something else.
    • Coaching the partner on what works on camera and in audio.
    • Sourcing the right opportunities for guest appearances on podcasts the firm's referrers actually listen to.
  • Production

    • Scripting and storyboarding before the shoot, so we're not figuring it out on the day.
    • Filming, audio recording, and directing the partner through it.
    • Coordinating videographers, audio engineers, studios, and locations.
  • Editing and post-production

    • Editing video and audio to a tight, watchable length.
    • Animation and motion graphics where they earn their place.
    • Subtitles, captions, and accessibility.
    • Versioning for different platforms: long-form for website, short-form for LinkedIn, audiogram for social.
  • Distribution and use

    • Putting the work where it will be seen: website, LinkedIn, YouTube, email, podcast platforms.
    • Coordinating the surrounding content (the article, the post, the email) so the video earns its full reach.
    • Repurposing the content into other formats, clips, quotes, transcripts, so one shoot does more work.

How we deliver it

Video and podcast work happens inside an engagement model. Most firms come to us through one of these.

  • Fractional CMO & team

    Fractional CMO & team

Ongoing video and podcast production as part of the firm's marketing function. Regular case studies, recurring thought leadership pieces, a planned series. Best for firms producing this kind of content consistently.

  • Projects, campaigns & tasks

    Projects, campaigns & tasks

Discrete production work on a fixed-fee or hourly basis. A single case study video, a one-off testimonial shoot, editing for a podcast you're recording yourself. Best for firms with their own marketing function who need specific production work delivered.

  • Strategy & advisory

    Strategy & advisory

When the question is what to make and why, before anything gets shot or recorded. Which formats earn their place, whether an owned podcast is worth the effort it takes to sustain, and how the content ties back to referrers and reputation. Best for firms that want the thinking before the doing.

  • How does our law firm get started with video or podcasts?

Most firms come in one of three ways. If there's a question to work through first, what's worth making and whether an owned podcast is the right move, that's a strategy engagement before anything gets shot. If you want it produced consistently, regular case studies, recurring thought leadership, a planned series, that sits inside a fractional engagement, running without anyone in the firm project-managing it. If it's a defined piece, a single case study video, a one-off testimonial shoot, editing for a podcast you're recording yourself, that's a project or task on a fixed fee. Not sure which fits? Start with a conversation and we'll point you to the right one.

  • What do you actually do on a video or podcast project?

As much or as little as you need. We help with ideation and planning, work out the format and what's worth making, then recommend the equipment and software to record it well. We write the scripts. For filming and studio work we work hand-in-hand with a number of video production partners, coordinating the shoot rather than running the camera ourselves. The post-production is ours: all the editing for video and podcasts, animation and motion graphics, and the artwork around a podcast, the cover, the episode templates, the audiograms. Once it's made, we get it onto the right platforms, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and run the marketing that actually attracts viewers and listeners rather than leaving the work to sit there unwatched.

  • Do we need a studio, or can we shoot video in the office?

For polished case studies and thought leadership pieces, a studio, or a well-set-up meeting room with the right lighting and audio, is worth the effort. For more conversational video, the office can work: it has the right look for a law firm and it saves time. We'll advise case by case, and we coordinate the videographer and equipment either way.

  • What about podcasts, do we need a studio for those too?

Less often. A podcast usually needs a good microphone and the right recording software more than a studio, and a quiet room in the office will do for most of it. We'll advise on the gear and the setup, and coordinate an audio engineer where the recording warrants it.

  • Can you handle podcast guest spots: finding them, prepping the partner, following up?

Yes. Identifying the right shows, pitching the partner, prepping for the appearance, and making sure it generates follow-on visibility: the LinkedIn post, the email to the network, the website mention. Done well, a guest spot on the right podcast is worth more than three months of LinkedIn posts.

  • Do we own the footage?

Yes. Once the project is paid, the footage, the edits, and the source files are yours. No usage restrictions, no licence fees, no claim on future use. The work is yours to use however you need.
